More About Blue Suede

The Blue Suede Invitational is a junior high basketball tournament for students attending schools in West Tennessee and surrounding counties. South Gibson County Middle School and South Gibson County High School welcomes you as the host of the tournament. South Gibson County Middle School is located in Medina, Tennessee 30 minutes northeast of Jackson. It is the academic home of approximately 800 students in grades 5-8.

The tournament is named in honor of Jackson rockabilly legend, Carl Perkins, who first recorded the famous song "Blue Suede Shoes" in 1955. A portion of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Exchange Club Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
