On Friday, August 29th, 5th graders and new students to SGCMS will be placed in their house group. This will occur in the morning. In the afternoon, we will hold our first house competition for the 2025-2026 school year. Our afternoon house competition is scheduled to be held at SGC's football field. We are excited, as this will be our first time holding an outdoor house competition. Parents interested to watching the house competition are welcome to attend at 12:45 PM. They are asked to please sit in the seats on the visitor side of the stadium.

8th Graders will receive their school issued laptops this Thursday during the school day. Students who have not been registered for this school year will not receive a laptop.

Meet the Hornets is this Thursday at 6:00 PM at the high school stadium.
The teachers and staff of SGCMS had a great first day back to kick off the 2025-2026 school year. In conjunction with GCSSD's #GibsonCountyKind initiative, we wore our "Be Kind" shirts and informed students of this important districtwide initiative. We would like to express our appreciation to Gracepoint Church in Jackson for their financial contribution for these shirts.

SGCMS's staff reunited with their house groups and welcomed new staff into their chapters. The four houses competed in a competition throughout the school in order to learn more about each of the chapters. Congrats to the Earth House on their victory today! We look forward to continuing the house legacy in 2025-2026.
